In an age where AI allows for shortcuts, I wanted every element to be authentic. Every image in this series was photographed for real, in the exact same locations but at different times, a process that brought both challenges and unexpected rewards. Each artwork is formed by layering two separate frames. In this piece, the superb starling wasn’t present in the original lion photograph, but appeared while I was photographing Somito almost exactly a year later. When the two moments came together, the bird not only balanced the composition, it added a quiet symbolism, a reminder of how time flies by, and how these iconic animals and cultures could fade into history.
