THE LAST NOMADS

It would often take up to 4 hours to have the camera in precisely the same location as it was when capturing the wildlife frame. The pre shoot preparations were one of the most important factors to get right but also the one of the most complex. Places can appear different after a year or more has passed which made my initial notes and documentation a vital resource. The next hurdle was weather, which often meant waiting several days for the right conditions to return. To make the most of my time, I created two shot lists with GPS coordinates, organised by weather type.
As the final image finally emerged on my computer, it felt as though a dream was fading into reality. After relying only on imagination for so long, the moment the frames aligned as I’d hoped was both immensely relieving and exhilarating.
